Fair do's, but do Londoners in fact like the place? Or is it an involuntary defensive reaction to assessment of their 'home turf'

Whenever I've left I've missed it.

Yes, I do. I was away for a long weekend a couple of weeks ago and was missing it within days. Mind you, wherever I was was very quiet and boring, as a result it's simple to miss London in such circumstances, though the peace and silence is nice for a couple of days, but a couple of days was enough. If I was on a nice quiet coast with swaying palm trees above me, I could last for a few weeks, but afterward I'd want to go back

The only glitch I have with London is that you ought to be constantly on it to pay for rents etc... By no means exclusive to London though, it's in fact far from the most pricey city to live in (Sydney, for example, is a lot worse).

There's beyond doubt far too many people. I don't recollect roads/tubes being as full of activity as when I moved here in 1982. Would prefer the populace to go back to what those figures were.

I don't exceptionally enjoy living in London, and wouldn't have chosen to live anywhere this built up, although when I moved here it was a conciliation with my ex. There are things about London I truly like - I love that it's vastly multicultural, I love the museums and galleries and events plus good public transport. It's just that as a country girl, there aren't sufficient trees and open spaces, it's merely not green enough and I think there's some part of me that will in no way get used to that part of city life - though I've lived here for half my life, I still miss having a woods out back and masses of open space which is what I grew up with.
