Erm, this has not anything to do with Streatham.

Broad Green Avenue is in Croydon. My sister lives like 40 seconds from where the picture was taking.

While hungover in a car my geography was not on best form... Apologises for besmirching the good name of Streatham.

Joke explainer:

A fairly down-at-heel (possibly homeless) man is eating takeaway food from a polystyrene container with a low wall as a table. However, he has gone to the exertion of bringing with him fresh salt and pepper grinders. The humour is in the juxtaposition.

Additionally, a number of comments in this thread reflect on how this relates to the gap found in many parts of London between the moderately affluent middle-class professionals and the acute poverty still found in these areas.

You're welcome.

Or, at the North end, St. Reatham-on-the-Hill.
