Did you never uncover the wonders of Jashan (Turnpike Lane)?

Yup. Would munch there rather than going to the Cinema in Wood Green.

rutabowa has a kid. My colleague lives in Tottenham with kids, she's not afraid.

Again sorry I didn't propose to scare monger. The kids mention was due to schools etc....

£3.50 jerk chicken, rice and peas and array of salad. amongst my favourite london eateries despite of price. :confident:

Thats new. I should explain I've not set foot in Harrigney since 2009, so I don't see how the area has changed post riot.

Latymer Edmonton would almost certainly be an option for secondary schools... Selective though.

There are a lot of things going for tottenham it's ridiculously inexpensive for next to zone 3. Transport links are fucking brilliant, heaps of buses, 1/2hr door to door to central london/liverpool street. Lovely parks.

I've been back in Dublin a few years now, however I can recall switching on the reports during the riots, and a large amount of that kicked off around the corner from my old house.

My buddy is fine by way of the primaries but agrees concerning the secondaries. She lives close to Phillip Lane next to Down somethingorother park. She loves it there, has made lots of mum friends since having her child, loves the local nursery, is a governor at one of the primaries but didn't realise that she lived in south Tottenham, she didn't see the difference. anyhow she told me today that they are moving to Wales. They don't want to but they can no longer have enough money to live in London, she's a stay at home mum and her spouse is an ambulance medic; they are struggling very hard to get by.

perhaps tottenham is the last place people end up before they plunge out of london altogether.

I don't imagine so. She was saying she's the first of her 'mum friends', the women she met subsequent to having a baby, to leave. while in Brixton where I live masses of the mums I met when I was on maternity leave have gone.

Ther's a decent pub on West Green Lane, and also close to Seven Sisters pub. Harringay Grand Parade is far nicer IMO
