Where is a good place to develop film? I've got a a small amount of rolls of 35mm color film I'd love to get processed. I've heard Boots mentioned, except to stay away from Snappy Snaps and Asda. Affordability is also a factor. I'm inexperienced as to what to do, any assistance appreciated!

Try Eye Culture, 225 Bethnal Green Road. Used to be next to Fashion St.

Wardour St. is well-known for that stuff, isn't it?

Almost definitely a mail-order place. I use Peak Imaging who won't be the cheapest but are fantastically good

The best camera store that does developing I've found in London is http://www.westendcameras.co.uk on Tottenham Court Road. The http://www.westendcameras.co.uk/film-processing-3-w.asp are not the cheapest but the folks there actually know their stuff and they aren't associated to a enormous chain. I've bought a bunch of stuff there, always nice and informative.

As tfb said, I've heard good stuff concerning http://www.peak-imaging.com/ but I haven't tried them out myself.

Snappy Snaps and Asda are both put down a lot except some people have reported good results from them.

There's additionally a Lomography UK shop in Spitalfields and one in Soho, but beware their prices are usually extortionate. Their develop only for C41 is only £4 though, so if you have a scanner and copier already that's a good price, with no need to post the film out.

Also note it's often cheaper to get a 'develop + scan' service rather than ordering prints. You can use the scanned CD in any of the photo booths to print the photos you like.

Developed some things at boots lately and it was sensibly priced and finished satisfactorily enough. Shouldn't be a challenge unless you're particularly fussy!

Ah, thanks for all the tips, especially the final one. Prints aren't required of every photo anyhow

There's zilch wrong with Snappy Snaps, IMHO.
