Hey good Londoners, who wants to help me out with a hot date?

Oh and if expense could be kept beneath around £70 for 2 people that'd be grand
> but cooked to a high standard.

you mean tasty?

Anyway go in the direction of hakkasan.

Hakkasan looks good but it looks like it could potentially get awfully pricey, in your experience how much do you think a normal Starter Main then Drinks meal would be?

Barbican isn't north west London, although since you're in that zone you could sample Polpo in Cowcross Street.

If you hold a tastecard ( free month's trial here if not ) then Kettner's is ace.

(You may want to check that it still accepts tastecard and that it works on Fridays)

EDIT: no Friday love unfortunately. :-(

Stilll...tastecard is at all times a good shout.

Cant answer I've ever heard of a tastecard but I might have to test it out! It's a shame the place you suggested isn't open on Fridays, it does come across pretty good, thanks anyhow though!
I think you might have misunderstood a little here. The place most certainly is open on Fridays. It just doesn't recognize tastecards on Fridays.(which gets you discounts and stuff)

Polpo is distinctive and classy, imagine Italian tapas.

Bottega Prelibato - really small italian place with amazing food, menu changes all day and mains are approximately £10 - £15.

Somehow still managed to steer clear of getting overrun by hipsters as well, in spite of the location.

Not far from barbican, you can try Red Hook (www.redhooklondon.com). awfully nice decor, good fare however not TOO pricey. Recommend the soft-shell crab as a sharing-starter.

Angus Steakhouse

Angus Steakhouse? I hope you're joking? This is the black hole of tourism!

Duck & Waffle if you want to genuinely impress her, should cost slightly under £70.... Oxo tower will be a little more (unless you go in the day), both have abundant views of London....

Oxo tower does boast al fresco, which in these summer evenings are perhaps going to be a better choice!

They're hundreds of places you can go, I've eaten at both of those but I'm still inexperienced at this London thing!
