I'm looking for classic comic books (1950s-1980s) but I don't want to purchase from Megacity/Forbidden Planet etc as they will be extortionate. Does anybody know of any car boot sales or market stalls whichwill have this kind of stuff?
EDIT: I've tried Camden- only one stall sells comics and they're pretty new.
30th Century Comics in Putney is fairly good http://www.thirtiethcentury.free-online.co.uk/ It's very small though however definitely worth a look
Orbital Comics is good, slightly off of Leicester Square, more or less 5 mins walk south of Forbidden Planet.
Lately I've been thinking about the same thing. So I went to check out Book & Comic Exchange next to Notting Hill as I had been there before and remembered they had a ton of older comics, but alas did not stumble on what I was looking for, but you might.
There's a good second-hand vinyl/comic book shop in Stoke Newington Church Street.
perhaps vinmag?
Vintage Magazine Shop, 39-43 Brewer St, London W1F 9UD
If you can wait a further 6 weeks go here: London Comic Mart
The best deals and the best selection than any real brick'n'mortar shop.
Trust me.
take a crack at 30th Century Comics in Putney. I used to go there all the time. Downstairs is where all the vintage stuff is.
Not a huge place, but the two guys that run there have been there for donkey's years and are extremely clued up :-)
If Orbital is satisfactory also check out Gosh! It on Peter Street off of Wardour Street in Soho.
