I'll be staying in Islington/St. Pancras for a while. Where are good places to eat? Pubs with less conventional brews or scotches?
If you're engrossed in Scotch, The Queen's Head on Acton Street has a rather nice selection, as well as the best porter I've ever had. The Lexington on Pentonville Road also has a bulky bourbon selection, but not sure if you're keen on that.
2 Recommendations from me:
1) Antepliler - http://www.anteplilerrestaurant.com/main/
2) Afghan Kitchen Restaurant - http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/restaurants/london/view/83744/Afghan_Kitchen
Both my personal faves, and if you're coming in May, another option to try will be a place called Wahaca who are opening a restaurant in Islington, hopefully, next month. - http://www.wahaca.co.uk/
you're going to want to starve yourself a little before visiting
If you want interesting beer, try the Craft Beer Co on White Lion St.
I haven't tried it, but John Salt on upper St sounds interesting. Run by the former chef of Pitt Cue Co. Kind of upscale BBQ
