A bellows is a flexible sensor, which is connected in a folding and contraction direction by a flexible crepe sheet. The bellow are widely used in the instrumentation, which are mainly used as the measuring elements of pressure measuring instruments to convert the pressure into displacement or force. Bellows plays a significant role in the several fields, including the petrochemical, instrumentation, aerospace, chemical, electric power, cement and other industries. In this paper, the author would like to introduce the five types of the bellows, including the metal bellows, bellows expansion joints, corrugated heat exchange tubes, diaphragm bellows and flexible metal conduit.

The bellows have a relatively fixed open end, and the auxiliary coil spring or reed is used to increase the elasticity. During operation, it is elongated along the length of the tube under the action of internal pressure, so that the movable end is capable of generating a displacement in a certain relationship within the pressure. Bellows are often combined with displacement sensors to form a pressure sensor that outputs electricity. Since the bellows stretch requires a large volume change, and its response speed is lower than that of the tube. The bellows is suitable to measuring low pressure. www.bestexpansionjoint.com email:best@lanphan.com
