In the absense of some usable information - how concerning a pub, a restaurant, a theatre play, a walk in the park or a hundred and one other possible ideas.
What usable information would you like? Anything that will help I will divulge.
What sort of stuff do you like doing; is there a geographical limit; is there a price range?

You know, the obvious stuff.

Right, sorry. I live next to Watford, she lives close to Islington. I estimate the price range would have to be on the low side. Not really looking to spend more than 40 pounds for a night.

She's into taking photos and going to gigs like rock music. She doesn't strike me as high maintenance at all. Also into horror movies.

I like movies a lot, I think a movie might be a bad idea for date two though, as being able to talk and get to be acquainted with each other a little more would be good. I'm into science and stuff. I also like just walking round London, since there's way more story than back in Canada.

There is a 60s-70s cinematography exhibition on at the Barbican at the moment. then again half of it is quite focussed on Apartheid, which is a bit of a bummer really. That's perhaps 45 minutes max though.

I'd urge taking her to your favourite pub in London.. good check if she is a good match!

timeout.com might have some listings of what's on. There is a new London based app called yplan that has event 'for tonight' only but I presume you need more preparation ahead than that.

Thanks, I've mentioned it to her, see if she wants to do that. Could also grab some chow too.

perhaps go here and then jog up to Russell Square(ish) for noms. possibly end up in a [retro fashion] (http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/clubs_bars/venue-7099.php)?
That'd be good for a Friday date, thanks!
Many of the museums in London do late night opening on weeknights - the Science Museum, for example. Unfortuantely that's the final week of the month, but have a google and you might find something a smidgen sooner.

next weekend there's an ice carving festival at canary wharf - it looks pretty appealing - http://www.londonicesculptingfestival.co.uk/programme.html - i'm planning to bring my camera down and get a few photos, maybe she'd like to ?

There's also a few other things near , plenty of bars, restaurants and a cinema, all within walking distance of there.

Ooo, that's a good idea, thanks!
no problem, hope it goes well no matter what you do!
Thanks, friend!

I imagine the museum/gallery lates are good for a date.
Gives you ample to talk about and they very often have a bar and some sort of food.

This list seems up to date:

Take her up the OXO Tower! Hurr hurr hurr
My British flat mate tells me that might represent anal sex, is she right?
It is also an actual tower but ask her anyhow if she fancies it, may possibly be a go-er, good luck

I would check out Ain't nothing but Blues in Soho (Kingly Street I think) - it's a fantastic Friday night date and its PACKED in there so if you're smart enough to get there prior to 8pm, you'll be in but squished. This ensures you have to be close to each other all night too...it's fun!

Always seize the Friday night option. If you know what I mean

Depends what she thinks of the meal, but give it a go.

Science of Zombies

Zombies: the word alone is sufficient to get the pulse racing, but what makes them so terrifying? On a bleak winter’s night at the Science Museum, we’ll explore the gloomy but fascinating world of consciousness and unearth the intimate workings of the zombie psyche. From mind-altering drugs to the instinctive impulses we all feel, make ready to walk the line between human and zombie in shocking and dramatic ways. Bring your brain – and guard it carefully.

There’ll also be prizes for the best-dressed zombies, so get creating your costumes!

Hell even if we aren't still dating I'll beyond doubt go to this, even alone! Thanks!
