Hi does anybody know of any nice pubs in close proximity to Waterloo station, ideally one with a beer garden & not ridiculously packed on a Friday night.

The Wellington, right across Waterloo Road from the station was a welcome find for a pair of hungry-and-don't-know-better tourists at 9:30 on a Friday night.

Well worth the walk is Scootercaffe on Lower Marsh, London, Greater London SE1 7AE

A quirky, intimate position with cats, a cool basement and a small garden. It's not in fact a pub but they have a small choice of bottled beers and spirits. Can't promise it won't be busy but I've been shocked from time to time.

The food in the Kings Arms is alright too. There's another called Jacks which is passable near there too.

Just keep a eye on your baggage, it's a hotspot used for thieves targeting weary travellers

The White Hart on Cornwall Road is my favourite in that area. Really nice pub, and only a couple of minutes stroll away.

King's Arms is nice enough but packed generally evenings.
