I particularly like Whitechapel Market on a Sunday, as it's the only day of the week it isn't there.
haha i used to live in Whitechapel! The one that's on Mile End Road immediately before you turn in to Sainsbury's?
My university asked if i wanted to study it for some coursework but i respectfully declined...

I feel you, I detest walking through that market.

Brick Lane markets.
Just went today! So much to see, amid Spitalfields, the Upmarket and the wide-ranging street stalls. Loads of fantastic food. Though like every market, there's a lot of generic mass-produced crap to shift through before you can find some nice genuinely homespun stuff. I would suggest doing at least one circle around every stall before committing to buying anything, as you'll probably spot the same thing for cheaper at another stall.

Sunday UpMarket and Brick Lane, for a Sunday, this is the best area in the city, markedly for food.
