My girlfriend found some money at the station tonight. it seems that there is no British Transport Police office there where she could hand it in. She's given her details to the staff, and we'll also call the police tomorrow. Thought we'd try our luck here as well.

If you feel it is yours, PM with the subsequent information:

The quantity you think was lost

The value of the note(s)

Rough location where you think you lost it

The time you think it was lost

If it doesn't get claimed in a few weeks, it's going to charity.

Just a speedy note, if you do hand it to the police, get a reference number.

The TFL Lost Property Office is on Baker Street

Might be sensible handing it in there. The owner is perhaps more likely to get in touch with Lost Property than the police.

Good on you for not thieving the cash.

Here goes:

£1000 / Three £500 notes and a water bill for £500 / In the station, roughly / Sort of between 6pm and midnight

Good on you for not thieving the cash.
Indeed, I can't put up with the keepers mentality that some of my otherwise most moralizing friends have.

A friend told me a story one time about how she went to use an ATM and there was £300 sticking out waiting to be collected. She kept it. I would've handed it in ASAP. That could've been someone's rent cash or food for their kids or whatever.

If you see that in the future, don't take it out and give it in. Just stand there stopping anybody else nicking it and after a minute (actually, 30 seconds I think) the ATM will suck the notes back in and re-credit the account.

Too greedy!

I lost £200, £20 notes around 7ish by the ticket office.

I saw a guy walk away from an atm for the reason that it was taking to long and then it spat out his cash. I called him back. Who takes somebody else's money?
