I live nearby enough to Shoreditch Park and would certainly be attracted ... would be looking to work out a couple of times a week I guess.

I'm a tad older than you (early thirties), and prefer to spend about half - or a bit more - of my time on weights (best for losing the flab) and the other 50% running.

So, glad to sign up with a gym - the Gainsborough gym does month memberships so it would be pretty easy to give it a try for a bit. I know my way round weights routines OK so if you don't, that's fine.

My partner and I go swimming at Ironmonger row baths (round the corner from co-op) following work at least once a week. No attachment needed £4.40 a session

I am a fat, idle Londoner who is only two weeks ahead of you. I work out in Waterloo though (its only £20 a month)

Where precisely around Waterloo is this £20 a month gym you talk of?

Hey, for persons interested I'm helping develop an app for finding workout partners. If you're interested could you head to gymbuddy and take the short questionnaire and sign on your interest and we'll let you know when we've got something out.

What time of day would you be wanting to gymnasium it up, and what kind of schedule do you have in mind?
Hey I don't have a routine in mind although I work 10-6 and can't do Tuesday/Thursday) so it'd be down to something you can manage but I was thinking the gym 2 days and conceivably a day of cardio or something?

It's really down to what time you have and what you're wanting to get out of it.

What is your schedule like?

Similar schedule to you. Did SL for 6 months or so a year or two back, but the lazy overcame me. Ideally I'd want to go on with that

Use the runkeeper app and add a number of friends. It tracks how many activities you've done every month and ranks you next to friends. Also, it lets you pick a training schedule in case you need help figuring out a decent program (like easing into 5k runs at a realistic pace).

I work near old street and you know what? This is a sign. I'm ridiculously out of shape and I truly need to smash into the gym. I'd be up for it.

By sl do you mean strong lifts? How effectual was it for you?
